This is a top-end washing machine which my wife and I purchased in November 2012. The plan was to have a good-quality large machine because we both work and have a family of five. Looking back I honestly wish I had never bought it. In April this year (so five months old) it leaked all over the floor and threw an error complaining about water escaping. I duly logged a call on the LG website and thinking we had a warranty was expecting some reasonable response. Three days later we had heard nothing, so I called their helpline and logged a new call. Another three days later an engineer called and condemned the machine as suffering a manufacturing fault to do with the molding on the plastic drum case. This was eventually reported back to LG for a replacement machine. I provided proof of ownership and everything went ahead (three weeks gone by this stage). I then called again to find that they had changed their mind and were now planning to repair the machine. That then required them to order he parts (from Holland) and book an engineer - another two weeks gone. When the parts did arrive it took another week for an engineer to attend (they only cover our area two days per week). Eventually the engineer did fix it.Altogether this took SIX WEEKS. The warranty on this machine is for repair only, not replacement - that is at LGs discretion. I was told that my experiences were normal! Without doubt this is the worst experience of customer services I have ever had. At every point I was told that it's being sort but it just went on and on. So many times I was told that I would be called back, but 80% was not. Neither was I ever able to escalate the call even with the most forceful and belligerent of attitudes. Our family were messed around with a string of broken promises, and having to drive miles in order to use a friends machine.If you buy this machine and it work well for you then good. But if you have any problems (and it was a manufacturing fault) then you will have a very bad time with this company. I'm a fair minded bloke and not a serial-complainer, but when you pay �900 for something which was badly made you expect better service than that.
